Position Description

Provides operational and maintenance support repairing and maintaining long term care facility and systems as needed under direction of the Environmental Services Director.
Must have the ability to work with seniors and display sensitivity to their needs. Performs all preventative and repair maintenance functions needed to keep the building clean and in good repair, as well as grounds maintenance summer and winter.

Prior experience with building repairs and janitorial work (REQUIRED)
Prior experience in long term care (Preferred)
Be available to work on call
Must have necessary physical skills and the ability to work safely with machinery and equipment requiring considerable caution
Must have ability to perform outlined tasks with minimum to no supervision and be self-motivated
Must have good interpersonal communication skills
Must be able to maintain confidentiality
Ability to tolerate varying temperatures and climate changes
Ability to lift 50 pounds, and comfortable climbing ladders over 12 feet
Ability to stand for long periods of time
Must be neat in appearance
Good attendance is a must
ยท Electrical/plumbing experience
Must be able to perform the listed duties and functions, independent of continual supervision. Must be able to understand and follow both written and verbal instructions. Must have knowledge of electrical, plumbing, carpentry, drywall, painting and general maintenance. Must know general cleaning techniques for both hard surface and carpeted floors. Must be able to perform basic grounds maintenance.
